If I pay my fine before the court date listed on my citation, do I still need to attend court?
Unless the violation is a Must Appear offense, you may pay the fine any time before the court date listed on your citation to avoid attending court. All citations issued to persons 21 years of age or younger must appear in person. Please call the court office if you have any questions regarding Must Appear violations.
How do I pay fine?
You can pay your fine in person Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Forms of payment accepted: cash, money order, cashier’s check, debit card and major credit cards, except Discover. Personal checks are not accepted.

Fines may be paid online at http://www.ezcourtpay.com. Each transaction will be charged a convenience fee, which is not collected by the City of Holly Springs.
Why is my accident citation a "Must Appear?"
Individuals charged as the offender in an accident case are required to appear before the Judge to ensure that the insurance claims regarding the case have been adequately completed.
Can I reschedule my court date?
Requests to reschedule (also known as a reset or continuance) a court date must be made in person at the City of Holly Springs Municipal Court office. If your court date has previously been rescheduled and you would like to request an additional reschedule, you will need to appear on your court date to ask for an additional continuance.
What time does court begin?
Each municipal court day has two sessions. Sessions begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Your citation will indicate both the date and session time of your court appearance.
What happens if I miss my court date?
Failure to appear in court on the date and time stated on the citation will result in additional fees, a court order to suspend your license, and/or a bench warrant for your arrest.
What is proper etiquette for entering the court room?
- Appropriate dress/attire: No hats, shorts, tank tops, or halter tops
- No cell phones or purses
- No food or drink inside the courtroom
- No children
- No weapons (guns, knives, pepper spray, etc.)
How do I request a court appointed attorney?
You may request an application for a court appointed attorney on or before your court date. Please note: You must qualify for appointed counsel. The application packet you will be given includes a Certificate of Financial Resources. This must be completed and you must provide all required documents in order to prove that you are within the guidelines established by the Supreme Court of Georgia for appointment of counsel. Once this packet is completed and returned to the court clerk's office, the clerk will process your application. A letter will be mailed to you at the address provided on the packet informing you of your qualification status.
