T.R.A.C.E. Program

The mission of the Holly Springs Police Department's T.R.A.C.E. program is to work with all citizens to preserve life, protect property and promote individual responsibility and community commitment. T.R.A.C.E. stands for Teamwork Results Accountability Communication Enforcement

The T.R.A.C.E. program is an organization-wide philosophy and management approach that promotes community, government and police partnerships, proactive problem-solving and individual involvement to address the causes of crime, fear of crime and other community issues.

The core components of T.R.A.C.E. are community partnership and problem solving.  These two components are equally important.  Problem solving involves identifying neighborhood crime and fear problems, understanding the conditions creating these problems, developing/implementing long-term solutions and determining the effectiveness of those solutions.  Partnerships involve trust, contact, cooperation and communication.

The T.R.A.C.E. program is based on two very important principles; (1) focusing prevention and enforcement efforts on recent crime trends as indicated by crime analysis and community input, and (2) working with our customers, the residents and business owners in Holly Springs, to prevent crime and address issues of concern. Using these principles as guides, several steps have been taken to ensure that we will be able to meet our service goals.

What are the Benefits of T.R.A.C.E.?

  • Increased potential for reducing crime, fear of crime and addressing quality of life issues.
  • It coordinates and leverages resources from all sectors for more effective strategies.
  • Increases trust and understanding.
  • Strengthened organizational support.
  • It creates a network of assistance, guidance and technical support in problem-solving.
  • It uses a more strategic approach to make a long-term impact.
  • It's PROACTIVE versus REACTIVE.  Get Involved...we can make a difference, but we must work TOGETHER!
Zone information

The City has been divided into four operational zones. Each zone is commanded by an Officer, who has the responsibility for the coordination of all crime prevention efforts and enforcement activities in the zone. The officer also serves as a liaison between the residents and business owners within the zones and the police department.

One officer has been assigned to each specific zone because we believe that this will help instill a greater sense of ownership and responsibility in the officers while at the same time making it easier for you to get to know the officers working in your area.  TRACE Zone Map
